Reading Jane Austen is particularly pleasurable. However, her work has changed for me over the years. I would love to think that women could always think of men in such a rational and careful manner, as many of her characters do.
For many women (speaking for myself here), all the high ideals of cautiously inching forward into a relationship vanish into thin air upon the beginning of strong attraction, & one can strive to capture those ideals again to no avail.
